Maximising success with perfect print products:
One-stop shop service at Gmähle-Scheel Print-Medien
Complex know-how, an expert command of traditional printing techniques, modern technology and committed employees: these are the main ingredients of the printing and media company Gmähle-Scheel’s strength.
The company offers a broad and varied range of printed products. In-depth advice from experienced professionals and management of the entire work process right from the start ensure a high standard of quality and optimum workflow. The professional infrastructure around the printing process guarantees reliable planning and delivery. As a one-stop shop, Gmähle-Scheel Print Medien offers a full service from the pre-print stage to sheet or web-fed printing and on to finishing and dispatching.
It all began in 1936 with a small Stuttgart printing house. Since then it has grown steadily over the past 75 years, undergone many changes and today employs a staff of more than 130.
On the technical side, 4-, 5-, 6- and 10-colour presses for formats up to 75 x 105 cm afford a high level of flexibility in the sheet-fed offset sector. On the latest presses, for instance, sheets are printed at a rate of 18,000 per hour. Interesting coatings are available to lend the printed product a special cachet. Drip-off varnishing, high gloss varnishes or iriodin pearlescent effects create products of distinction. Flyers, extensive brochures and magazines, books or posters – printed on a wide range of paper grades – are given a perfect presentation. When it comes to high print runs, for flyers, catalogues, magazines and supplements in particular, the company has strongly positioned itself in a niche segment on the market with two web offset presses, each with four dual printing units, perforating and punching equipment and a special folding machine. The flying imprint, a technical highlight, permits personalisation, in particular also for high print runs – an interesting option, for instance for products with umpteen company or dealer imprints. The entire spectrum of finishing techniques and customised packing is of course also available. Customers can request articles per database, permitting access to 1,800 sq. m. of warehouse space and 1,500 pallet positions.
Great importance is also attached to environmental matters and, in particular, to climate protection. The company pursues a policy of resource-saving with regard to the use of the raw material, paper, holds CO2 reduction certificates, complies with the FSC standard and consistently implements energy management. Its guiding principle moreover is always to focus on staff development. Highly motivated, well-qualified staff is the key to making the best even better in the future.
