Landesbank Baden-Württemberg
The Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) Group is a regionally anchored universal bank with total assets of approximately EUR375bn (31/12/2010). With around 210 branches and offices throughout Germany and in selected locations abroad, some 13,000 employees provide customer services. LBBW’s SME corporate customers appreciate the local services of the global network which consists of representative offices, branches in New York, London, Singapore and Seoul, and five German centres.
Together with its legally dependent institutions Baden-Württembergische Bank (BW-Bank), Sachsen Bank and Rheinland-Pfalz Bank (RP-Bank) as well as its subsidiaries, LBBW is active in a wide range of banking businesses.
The Landesbank Baden-Württemberg itself forms the overarching structure of the LBBW Group. In addition to bundling competences in support of customer business, LBBW carries out a control function within the group. LBBW has direct responsibility for servicing large corporate customers, institutional customers and public sector bodies.
The LBBW group gives service to more than one million private clients in Baden-Württemberg via BW-Bank. BW-Bank functions as a savings bank in the provincial capital of Stuttgart, while the focus outside Stuttgart is the provision of services for high net worth private and investment customers. BW-Bank also runs the corporate customer business focused on SMEs in South Western Germany.
As a regional customer bank, RP-Bank undertakes corporate customer business in Rhineland-Palatinate and the neighbouring economic areas, with the main focus on SMEs. It is also active, for example, in private banking.
Sachsen Bank acts as a regional customer bank, operating private and corporate customer business in Saxony and the neighbouring economic regions, with particular emphasis here too on SMEs and private banking.
Specialised subsidiaries complement the range of services provided by the LBBW Group in areas such as leasing, factoring, asset management and real estate.
A sponsor of art, culture, sports and the community
As a bank with regional roots, LBBW also regards itself as linked to the community within its business area, even beyond the business of banking, and carries out its social responsibilities in various ways. The bank is thus committed to sustained economic activity and the conservation of natural resources. For many years it has been involved in art, culture and sports; for example, LBBW sponsors the VfB Stuttgart, the Stuttgarter Staatsoper and the Nationaltheater Mannheim. The bank’s objective here is to provide continued impetus for future-oriented and sustainable development.
